Welcome to Adelaide Heath  Academy

At Adelaide Heath Academy all our students are unique and we work very hard to understand the ways in which they learn best.

Through a nurturing environment we aim for pupils to become:

Independent

Resilient

Effective communicators

Emotionally intelligent

Successful

We have a dedicated staff team who are passionate about providing the best possible opportunities and outcomes for each individual.  We celebrate difference, we challenge and resolve conflict, maintain high expectations about student behaviour, relationships and progress.  Supporting the individual can be a challenge but we believe all our students can and will achieve.

All the students at Adelaide Heath Academy have an EHCP, primarily SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), some exhibit very challenging behaviour and mainstream schooling is not always the most appropriate setting.  Many have had a fragmented education and have fallen behind their peers academically and this often results in low self-esteem and increased anti-social behaviour.

With small classes and a dedicated staff team who truly understand SEMH and go above and beyond, we feel that once a student starts at Adelaide Heath Academy they have every opportunity to turn their lives around.  Working closely with parents and carers and other agencies to help each student make positive choices, potential can truly be realised.

Our behaviour policy supports our values and promotes positive choices but the absolute 'Key" to success is developing strong working relationships.

Yours sincerely,

Charlotte Cartlidge- Headteacher
