E-Safety

 What is Online Safety?

There are lots of benefits of using the internet, however there are potential dangers which you must be aware of so that you keep yourself safe.

E-Safety is a term used to promote the protection of people from the unwanted consequences of using the internet, mobile phones and social network

Cyber-Bullying

Bullying is when a person or a group of people intentionally hurt someone else. this can be physical or emotional and means that someone intimidates or puts another person down. Bullying also includes cyber bullying:

1 Sending abusive emails or other inappropriate materials

2 Using instant messaging and chat rooms to bully people

3 Using social network sites such as facebook, instragram, myspace etc to bully people including posting photos

4 Using mobile phones to send messages or to video people inappropriately

Adelaide Heath Academy has an Anti-Bullying policy to help us to deal with any incidences of bullying.  This is because bullying can have a negative effect on the person being bullied which can make them feel very unhappy.

Students should let a member of staff know if they or someone they know is being bullied so that it can be dealt with immediately.
